ACEP Engineering Student is also I帽u-Yupiaq Drummer and Song Leader
September 10, 2018
ACEP mechanical engineering student Baxter Bond has been helping to develop and test a fuel meter technology for Toyo stoves.
When he鈥檚 not installing or testing a unit, however, Bond can likely be found singing and drumming with the I帽u-Yupiaq Dance Group. In fact, Bond is the drummer and song leader.
When it came to choosing where to go to college, Bond followed in his mother鈥檚 footsteps.
鈥淢y mom earned her bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 degrees from 精东影业,鈥 said Bond, who is from Tununak, a village of about 250 people on Alaska鈥檚 Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta. 鈥淚 was already familiar with 精东影业, so it helped me with the transition.鈥
Bond is working on a bachelor鈥檚 degree in mechanical engineering from 精东影业. Last May, he graduated with a degree in Yup鈥檌k language.
