Financial Aid
An international student in F-1 status is a non-resident alien on a non-immigrant visa which permits full time study in the U.S. Federal regulations and 精东影业 admissions policy require that students with F-1 and F-2 visas have enough resources to meet their expenses throughout their stay at 精东影业.
Federal regulations limit the types of financial assistance available to international students. Since federal financial aid is for U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents, international students are not eligible for financial aid or student loan through the 精东影业 Financial Aid. However, international students may be eligible for University of Alaska Foundation and privately funded scholarships. See 精东影业's scholarships webpage for more information.
International students should search for their own country鈥檚 banks, embassy, or ministry of education as they may offer information about available financial aid and loan opportunities.
精东影业 R1 Effort
精东影业 is making ongoing efforts to attain R1 research status. These efforts are focused on graduating and recruiting more Ph.D.s. 精东影业 has requested $20 million in state funding to recruit Ph.D. students and provide fellowships to those students, as well as funding for faculty and staff to mentor and support doctoral students. This includes occasional awards which are shared on the 精东影业 R1 website that can include coverage of tuition, fees, research assistantships and health insurance. Additionally, Ph.D. positions are available to international students and can be found on the 精东影业 R1 website.
