Week’s events: Dan O'Neill, AI for healthcare, Yup’ik dance, string band

����ӰҵSummer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting more than 40 free lectures, concerts and events this summer. Here’s what’s happening during the series’ final week of Aug. 11-17:

• On Monday, Aug. 11, the Tall Timbers interview series will feature Alaska author Dan O’Neill, interviewed by Dermot Cole. The interview will center on O’Neill’s newest book, “The Impertinent Question,” a collection of his newspaper opinion columns published during the years 1998-2002. The event is at 7 p.m. in the Schaible Auditorium.
• On Tuesday, Aug. 12, the Healthy Living lecture series will host Arghya Kusum Das, assistant professor of computer science, presenting “AI for Healthcare in Alaska: Where Are We and Where Are We Heading?” The talk is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
• On Wednesday, Aug. 13, the Discover Alaska lecture series will feature Leonard Kamerling, professor and curator of film emeritus at the UA Museum of the North. He will present a screening and discussion of his documentary on Yup’ik dance, “Uksuum Cauyai: Drums of Winter.“ The presentation is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
• On Thursday, Aug. 14, the Music in the Garden concert series will showcase Susan Grace at 6 p.m. and the ET Barnette String Band at 7:30 p.m. at the Georgeson Botanical Garden.

All events are free and open to the public. Parking on the ����Ӱҵ Troth Yeddha’ Campus is free after 5 p.m.
