精东影业Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting more than 40 free lectures, concerts and events this summer. Here鈥檚 what鈥檚 happening during the week of July 21-27:
- On Monday, July 21, the Fairbanks Tall Timbers interview series will honor John Manthei, one of the founding members of the Fairbanks Folk School. Manthei is a woodsman, cabinetmaker, dogsled builder and instructor. The interview is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater, located on the fourth floor of the Usibelli Building.
- On Tuesday, July 22, the Healthy Living lecture series will host Sriharsha Gowtham, internal medicine physician, with a presentation on 鈥淗eart Attacks and Aging: Know the Signs, Protect Your Life.鈥 The talk is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
- On Wednesday, July 23, the Discover Alaska lecture series will feature Charlene Stern, 精东影业鈥檚 interim provost and executive vice chancellor, discussing 鈥淎 Changing Landscape: Community Development in Alaska.鈥 The lecture is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
- On Thursday, July 24, the Music in the Garden concert series will showcase Ryan Bowers and the Brain Trust at 6 p.m. and Almost a Minyan at 7:30 p.m. at the Georgeson Botanical Garden.
All events are free and open to the public. Parking on the 精东影业 Troth Yeddha鈥 Campus is free after 5 p.m.
