Primary duties encompass monitoring the obligation status of the Salaries and Expenses (S&E) appropriation, the Buildings and Facilities (B&F) appropriation, Trust Fund Operations, and Inmate Deposit fund accounting. The incumbent is responsible for providing administrative and financial support services and maintaining the daily status of accounting data reflected in the Financial Management Information System (FMIS).Manages purchase orders, contracts, travel authorizations, government transportation requests, and other source documents and assures they are obligated against the proper appropriated and non-appropriated funds. Reviews documents for coding accuracy and ensures accurate and timely entry into the on-line accounting system.Maintains automated obligation records and source documents on a daily basis. Prepares, reconciles, and ensures funds are available for obligation accruals, adjusts accruals in the month and quarter in which the obligation is incurred and ensures accurate entry into automated accounting system. Recording of the obligations into undelivered orders and/or accounts payable shall be performed in accordance with GAO Title 7 and other government-wide accounting standards and in conformance with applicable auditing standards.Perform travel functions in the FMIS Travel Module such as establishing a Travel Authorization (obligation), issuing Travel Advances and preparing Travel Vouchers. Resolve Travel Advance problems at time of settlement due to the restraints of the module. Research and follow-up will be required when reconciling the Travel Advance account.Assists in the preparation of monthly account reconciliations and adjustments of accounts for prior year appropriations. This position manages the Loss Prevention Team and supervises county risk assessment and safety programs. Provides oversight and guidance on safety analysis reviews performed by staff including assessments, findings, recommendations to mitigate and reduce losses, training, and outreach. Develops, implements, and administers risk reduction strategies to ensure a safe environment and provides leadership for continual improvement and proactive measures in the area of risk assessment programs. Identifies opportunities for safety, loss prevention, and risk reduction methods and programs by conducting accident and injury-related investigations and worksite safety audits. Ensures compliance with county, state and federal regulations and guidelines addressed in, but not limited to, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). This is a safety position that is a direct report to the Loss Prevention Analyst IV and independently works to provide professional level assistance in the area of loss prevention and safety on a county-wide basis and performs related work as required, to ensure a safe environment. Works as a member of the Medical Services Branch located in the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. As an individual and team contributor, provides patients with routine and emergency health care. Duties may include obtaining health histories on newly-incarcerated patients and, when necessary, making referrals of patients to the staff physician, nurse practitioner, dentist, mental health professional, or specialist in alcohol and/or drug abuse treatment. Ensures all medication is administered in accordance with standard operating procedures and as ordered by the authorizing authority. Serves as an assistant team supervisor; assists with the supervision of subordinate medical personnel and guides them in matters of policy, procedures, protocol, and discipline. Serves as the medical team training officer.Schedule:聽The incumbent will be assigned to 12.5 hours shift on a squad schedule, will work 15 days per month, equal to 87.5 hours per two-week pay period. (Day shift from 6:30 am - 7:00 pm and Night shift from 6:30 pm to 7:00 am).
